'Hop-on' a low cost mobile phone maker has announced the launch of a device-HOP1890. This device is also known as ChitterChatter. This handset would be available in two versions - one with dual-band 850/1900MHz radio for the U.S. market and the other with cell phone radio, working on 900/1800MHz bands specifically for Europe.
Specifically designed for senior citizens or those with a need for medical assistance, the phone offers a call center service round the clock, where operators are able to place calls, offer directory assistance as well as help with the setup.
Other features includes the GPS/Enhanced Location-Based-Services that offer a unique and convenient way for seniors, or those with special medical needs, to stay connected and in touch with each other. The GPS module is used to quickly identify the location of the device.
The handset comes with a panic button. During the initial setup of the phone the consumer will set up an emergency contact. During an emergency when the panic button is pressed the emergency contact is dialed and an operator will remain online until help arrives.
