There is a new Tablet PC which hit the Indian market today- the Micromax FunBook. There have been multiple tablet launches in India and the best part is that these tabs are ranging below Rs 9000. Recently HCL released HCL ME U1 and the MyEdu tablet PC with a commendable configuration.
Micromax is a mobile company which has produced amazing phones earlier in 2011 and 2010. Like the many companies that are making a foray into the tablet PC market by offering feature rich devices at enticing prices, Micromax is planning to debut with the Micromax FunBook. Micromax has a target of releasing 1 lakh units per month and it has already roped in companies like Pearson, Everonn, Vriti to provide digital education content.
Besides, companies like Bigflix, Indiangames and Zenga will offer entertainment apps. For educational content, users may have to pay Rs 799 and get access to the multimedia content from their partners. Micromax is already no.3 in the Indian mobile phone market and it is set to create a niche in the Indian Tablet PC market too. An incredible price tag of Rs 6499 and enviable features and looks are bound to entice users.

The device is targeted at education sector and will be manufactured in India itself. The FunBook Tablet PC will be mainly for the younger generation and the firm has tied up with leading education and entertainment content providers. Micromax will manufacture these tablets at a plant in Haridwar. They will be initially available in 50 cities across India.
