Nokia N97 Mobile Computer Launched in India

Nokia has announced the N97 Mobile Computer in 75 different countries including India. New Delhi played host to the announcement of this Nokia mobile in India. However, there is no price details mentioned as yet. At the same time, there is plenty of guesswork in the market about the heavy specifications included in this mobile phone.

To give you a brief run through of the features included in Nokia N97 Mobile Computer, it will utilize an ARM 11 434 MHz processor on a Symbian OS (v9.4) along with a Series 60 UI. With capabilities to connect to social networking and also Nokia's new OVI store, Nokia N97 includes a 3.5" TFT screen that has 16 M colours along with a 360 x 640 resolution. The good news is that it has an accelerometer sensor and auto rotating display. It also supports handwriting recognition.

Along with a full QWERY keyboard that slides out, it has a 3.5" earphone socket that also can be utilized as TV out for audio as well as video purposes. The Nokia N97 also includes a 5 MP camera along with Carl Zeiss optics. It also supports 3G with HSDPA, EDGE, GPRS, and Wi-Fi for fast internet connection. For radio enthusiasts, it includes a stereo FM radio with RDS, along with an FM transmitter and visual radio as well.

For those interested in the outdoors, the Nokia N97 includes GPS with A-GPS support, digital compass, and geo tagging. Also included is 36 GB of internal storage as well as support for microSD cards. The mobile also comes with preloaded Pocket Office software. Though there are no announcements about the price of the mobile, the Nokia N97 is estimated to be in the range of around Rs. 36,000 /- plus or minus a few thousand.
