The Cybershot range of mobile phones are renowned for offering the consumer the very latest in mobile photographic technology, the name itself has come from Sony's standalone digital cameras similar to how Sony Ericsson introduced the Walkman badge to their range of music focussed mobile phones.
The first of the Cybershot phones to be released was the Sony Ericsson K550i, a candy-bar style handset that was the first to offer Autofocus in a mobile device. It had a 2.0 megapixel camera which was top of the range for its day and came complete with digital zoom and flash.
Following this the manufacturer launched the Sony Ericsson K800i, a 3G enabled phone that featured the very latest 3.2 megapixel camera, this is the phone that consumers have told changed their mind about the brand and would never change back, quite a statement but this was and still is a very good mobile device. The K800i also offered a new photolight technology only seen in standalone units called xenon flash, brighter than the usual LED flash it made photography in badly lit areas much easier.
More recently the upgraded version of the K800i has been released, the Sony Ericsson K810i, the handset offers all that the K800i does but with a different design. The normal keypad buttons that usually show the numbers and text on the front of the phone have been replaced for some sophisticated and stylish brushed steel buttons with the numbers and text actually printed on the face of the phone next to the buttons. This will obviously help long term users of the handset as the text sometimes rubs away on the older style buttons with lots of use.
The Sony Ericsson K810i is a 3G enabled phone with a secondary camera to facilitate face to face video calling, this is so that the user can actually see the person they are talking with live on the screen of their phone. Video calling has many uses away from simple face to face calls, estate agents and architects now use 3G video calls for relaying pictures back to the office of new properties and projects saving time and money. With 3G services users have instant access to a new world of media entertainment and downloads, because 3G offers almost broadband speeds viewing streaming media and downloading large files is no longer a problem. There is access to the latest news and sports headlines, weather reports, movie trailers and new music videos plus thousands of new mobile content files including ringtones, games, wallpapers and themes. The K810i also has an MP3 player built-in allowing users to download music tracks direct from the mobile internet via 3G or uploading from a PC complete albums from CD plus with stereo speakers integrated into the top of the phone it can be used as a small ghetto blaster.
One very important feature is expandable memory, will the amount of files creation from photos, video clips, music and downloads the K810i will take a MicroSD card which will expand the memory up to a sizeable 2GB.
The Sony Ericsson K810i was first available in Black and then Ivory with the latest addition being a Red colour variant, all models hold the same specifications and features but the new red K810i adds a touch of seduction and playfulness to the range. A powerful phone that offers the very latest in photographic technology as well as fast 3G services, ideal for business or pleasure the Sony K810i Red phone is ready for it all.
